THE BRIEF.
To Create an excitement around our sport and our events. To engage, to inspire and to sell tickets.
SailGP OOH marketing campaigns has predominately been event-led branding, where our campaigns feature in local venue cities to highlight the upcoming event. These run based off our event poster design, and use targeted messaging and images to sell our sport and the event.
However this season SailGP ran a brand-led campaign which highlighted what SailGP is as a sport. Fast, exciting, high-impact and adrenaline-fueled. We are speed, action, rivalries, We are Racing – We Are SailGP. The campaign was kicked-off with a 3D video at Piccadilly Circus, and off the back of this created a set of visual posters which could be adapted for OOH marketing.

This highlights everything SailGP has to offer. Close-to-shore racing, rivalries and excitement. Although the static visuals aren't as engaging as the trailer, not all OOH marketing has an option for video, so static variations are a must to ensure the campaign reaches the required audience.

Event-Led Campaign
These campaigns differ from event to event. Although each season theres a design style which is followed, based on the location, local country/language requirements, and ever adapting team requirements, there's side-by-side aren't comparable, but instead comparable based on a target audience structure.
OOH branding locations include; buildings, public transport, billboards, posters, city dressing, lamppost banners and much more.
Event Posters
The event-led marketing stems from the design of the posters. The design of the event posters develop as our brand led campaign launched.
